‘Bawra’ is a Sufi word meaning a poetic wanderer lost in a state of wonder and contemplation.

Project Bawra is an attempt to develop an international platform for contemporary jewellery in a South Asian context.

Research interests include:

- Politics of ornament, adornment and decoration
- South Asian visual & material culture
- Postcolonial studies and decoloniality
- Histories of craft and design in South Asia
